Science Alive in Rang a hAon

We were thrilled to welcome Martha’s Mum (Blánaid) to Rang a hAon today. She brought her Science expertise and dazzled us with fantastic experiments. We investigated the power of soap to repel germs, using pepper, water and soap.

Then we made ‘bugs on a string’ to simulate the flapping noise made by insects. We measured the sound produced using a sound meter.

After that, we invited Rang a Dó and Junior Infants out to see some chemical reactions, much to the amazement of children and staff alike!

Rang a Cúig then invited us over to the main building for a feast of Scientific endeavour. They demonstrated the power of light. We were really impressed by their ability to explain
