Safer Internet Day – Senior Infants

February 6, 2024

Tuesday the 6th of February marked Safer Internet Day all across Europe. Senior Infants have been working with computers lately so we first discussed what the internet was and what it could be used for.

We mentioned some of the positives and negatives of the internet. We got some important safety tips like never share your password (OR YOUR PARENTS) online, to check before ‘buying’ a game and to be kind on the internet and if you are in a situation that you are uncomfortable or unsure of press the x at the top of the screen and tell a trusted adult. If you’re not sure, remember to Stop, Think and Check.

That’s what we learned watching some of the videos from Webwise (which are usually for first class but we still found them very useful). We also coloured some Safer Internet Day colouring sheets and had to design our own Internet Safety emoji.

We’ll definitely remember these when we go online, cause it will help keep us safer and happier on the internet.
