Bacteria

January 31, 2023

During some Science lessons, Rang a Dó had the very important job of conducting an experiment to show the importance of washing our hands. Though over the past number of years we have become accustomed to washing our hands a lot, our photos of mouldy bread show that we may need to start washing our hands a little more carefully!

Our first photo, was of a clean piece of bread, only touched on the crust by Ms. Madden and placed into the plastic bag.

Our next 3 photos were touched by each child in the class- we washed our hands after this!

Our final photo, which you will agree, does not look in anyway clean, is of the door handles leading to the toilet, and leaving our classroom.

Even-though our classroom is left gleaming at the end of everyday by our lovely cleaner Anka, it just goes to show how important it is to wash our hands after using the toilet, blowing our noses, coughing and sneezing.

Rang a Dó thoroughly enjoyed watching the bacteria develop on the bread in the plastic bags- a fantastic, successful Science experiment! ✅
