Pupils have been involved in various active lessons and activities since returning to school after the laethanta saoire na Nollag. Hurling and football are examples of sports that all children in the school had an opportunity to participate in. From handpassing to soloing and lifting to striking, all pupils really enjoyed these lessons.

Siúlóid: Some classes again took advantage of the few spells of dry weather and ventured along the Scilly walk.

Leadóg Bhoird: Classes are continuing to avail of table tennis lessons ar scoil and Rang a Ceathair are looking forward to participating in a blitz in Sáile on March 1st. .

Iománaíocht agus Camógaíocht: Rang a Cúig were very active last week, taking part in the local indoor hurling and camogie blitzes in Sáile on February 6th and 7th. Comhgairdeas to the buachaillí who were the overall buaiteoirí ar an Máirt. Maith sibh cailíní chomh maith agus go raibh maith agat Micheál O’ Connor ó Kinsale GAA for organising the events.

Yoga: This month, páistí ó Naíonáin Bheaga go dtí Rang a Dó started yoga lessons for this year. Their yoga instructor, Veronique, tells special stories that deliver messages of kindness and compassion, incorporating yoga poses to develop the children’s flexibility and posture. This week, they mastered the ‘rock star’ pose which the children will no doubt be eager to show you all at home! They leave yoga sessions focused, relaxed and ready to practise ‘ahimsa’ in their everyday lives.

Rugbaí: Rang a Trí benefited from some tag rugby lessons with Vincent. They learned how to pass the ball backwards to another player, to make space to receive passes, grounding the ball and had mini blitzes. Bhain siad sár-thaitneamh as na ceachtanna and Rang a Ceathair are looking forward to beginning these lessons an teseachtain seo chugainn.

Snámh: Rang a Sé enjoyed their ceachtanna snámha and Rang a Cúig are currently availing of these lessons on Wednesday afternoons. Children are learning / improving on their front crawl, breast stroke, back stroke and diving skills.

Ceachtanna Corpoideachas are continuing in all rooms with lessons including basketball, Olympic handball and hockey. Our pupils are continuing to remain active outside of school also, partaking in activities such as dancing, hockey, soccer, rugby, Tae-Kwon-Do, gymnastics, hurling, football, tennis, table tennis and karate! Maith sibh go léir! Tá súil againn go mbainfidh gach duine taitneamh as an leath-theárma.
