We are remaining active in S.N. Chóbh! Pupils have been involved in various active lessons and activities for the past two months. Basketball is a sport that all children in the school had an opportunity to participate in. From dribbling to throwing and catching, chest / bounce passing to possession games, all pupils really enjoyed these lessons.

Many classes again took advantage of the dry weather and ventured along the Scilly walk.

Indoor Football: Rang a Trí both girls and boys participated in indoor football blitzes in Riverstick in late November. There was huge excitement, perfection of skill and team spirit on each of the competition days. The competition was spread over three days with the quarter, semi and finals decided on the fourth day.  All teams showed great determination and team spirit on their respective days and there was a great buzz about football. We were delighted to welcome back a team of boys as deserving winners of the trophy after three matches back to back. With each match win the boys were edging closer to the trophy and they delighted in sharing the wonderful news with the school community. The winning team was captained by Donal Barry and his team members were Harry and Cathal Walsh, David McCarthy, Stephen Linehan, Adam Coughlan, Brían Murphy and Patrick Dyer.

Table Tennis: On Tuesday 21st November, 28 pupils from Rang a Cúig and Rang a Sé proudly represented S.N. Chóbh Chionn tSáile in a Table Tennis competition held in Sáile. The school achieved great success on the day with many medal winners. The boys teams, Seán Loughnane, Rory Griffin, Rory O’ Brien, Shay Ahern and Tom McCarthy from Rang a Cúig and Luke Etty, Shane O’ Donovan, Jonathan Walsh and Charlie O’ Sullivan from Rang a Sé both came first in their respective divisions. The mixed team from Rang a Cúig of Mikie Morgan, Dionne Collins and Brian Plunkett also came first in their division. Two of our teams won silver medals. These teams were Jenny Foley, Rachael Barry, Jeanne Murphy and Lauren Green from Rang a Sé and the mixed team from Rang a Sé, Cathal Barry, Dylan Keating, Kate Farley and Gemma Sadler.A huge well done to all involved!

P.E. lessons are continuing in all rooms with lessons including hockey, football, rounders and basketball.  Rang a Sé have been partaking in weekly swimming lessons in the MacDonald Hotel.

Our pupils are remaining active outside of school also, which is great to hear. We were all very proud of the fantastic hard work, determination, teamwork and spirit that the Kinsale Ladies demonstrated the past year and which saw them play in an outstanding All-Ireland Final.

Tá súil againn go mbainfidh gach duine taitneamh as na laethanta saoire na Nollag, agus ná déan dearmad arís – bí gníomhach!
