On Friday, 15th September, Rang a hAon and Rang a Dó spent a beautiful autumn morning on the Scilly Walk. Having discussed the seasonal changes that autumn brings, the children identified leaves belonging to various trees and used all of their senses to explore nature. We listened to bird song and we even caught a glimpse of a seal swimming in the harbour.
We sat in the sunshine and practiced mindfulness together, pausing for a moment to focus on the lovely sights and sounds around us and focusing on our breaths. We brought back treasure in the form of fir cones and multi-coloured leaves to enrich our classroom discussions! Furthermore, the sight of swans swimming together inspired us to explore the story of “The Children of Lir”.
