School Blitz’s

Well done to the girls from Rang 4 who played an indoor camogie blitz on January 27th. They beat Castlelack, drew with Dunderrow and were beaten by Gaelscoil Cionn tSáile. Congratulations to the buachaillí who played on February 3rd, beating Dunderrow and Gaelscoil to qualify for the semi final on February 10th. They played at blistering speed and huge intensity to beat Goggins Hill and make it to the final.  They met a talented Crosshaven side and contested very well only to be narrowly beaten. Though disappointed, the boys were glad to receive silver medals for their fine endeavours....

The Student Council, on behalf of all the pupils in S.N. Chóbh, were delighted to present a cheque to the value of €200 to Karen O’ Mahony, founder of the Rainbow Club. The Rainbow Club in Mahon caters for up to 239 children each week who are on the autism spectrum, helping them to improve their communication skills, develop their social skills and enjoy a range of activities. This money was fundraised by having a Christmas themed non-uniform...

Doodle4Google – Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile needs YOUR help!  Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile, are delighted to announce that they have two finalists in this year’s Doodle4Google competition as Doodles by Archie Ó Ceilleacháin (Archie O Callaghan, Rathmore) from Senior Infants and Juliette Nic an Taoisigh (Juliette McIntosh, Misty Moorings) from Rang 1 have both been chosen for that shortlist. Archie and Julliette along with 75 other finalists from around the country will travel to Google HQ in Dublin on 3rd April 2017 for the final and have a very good chance to win a €5,000 college scholarship and a €10,000 technology grant for the school.  The winning doodle will also appear on main google page for a week.However, the Gaelscoil needs YOUR HELP voting for both Archie and Julliette over the coming weeks so that they are in with a chance of winning this great prize.
